Acrobat Professional XI Windows

Acrobat Professional XI Windows [Download]

Acrobat 11 must have software for anyone who use your computer for business. I've been using Acrobat since version 5 in 2003 I upgraded in recent years to version 7, 9, 10, and now 11 Moving from version 9 to 10 required a tutorial (I subscribe to Lynda.com), but if you you are already using version 10, moves to release 11 is easy.

I've had a love / hate relationship with Acrobat over the years. I've gone off the reservation a few times and tried 3rd party products that made a particular task better than Acrobat, but there is no substitute for the real thing. The only 3rd party software I have retained is SysTools PDF Unlocker. The unlocker tool is not perfect and will not unlock everything, but I have come around some obstacles.

Version 11 is a need to upgrade due to improvements in the ability to edit. Acrobat is not an editing program, so it is often the best way to return to the building program if you have access and time, but usually do not have either. The typewriter tool in previous versions was better than nothing, but clumsy, awkward and limited. Text created with the tool antique typewriter was actually a comment, so we had to attach the file to convert in text of the current document. I could go on and on about all the shortcomings of the typewriter tool, but it's gone in Acrobat 11 (The typewriter tool is still available to edit text typewriter created in the previous version, but not used to create a new text in version 11.)

New text editing tools are much better and a great time saver. Previously, there was no such thing as multi-line text or paragraphs. If you created a pdf of another document, the text is divided into individual single lines left justified. The new text editor is much easier to use, it incorporates many typical processor controls the justification texts and source. Text can now be a paragraph of several lines flowing. Selection and articles (including text) moving around a page is much easier.

This Acrobat 11 opinions is not a tutorial, so I'll move on, but I recommend spending a couple of hours through a video tutorial to quickly get up to speed on the improvements. Lynda.com is a good source for most Adobe products, and also covers other common programs like Word, Excel and Autocad, but do not expect to go there for training in something like Solidworks. I have been working with version 11 for about a month, and I keep finding ways to modify my workflow that require less laundry (pdf to Illustrator and back). The time savings are huge.

It always amazes me when I deal with a company that does not use Acrobat. Acrobat is the de facto standard in the industry. With so much content available as a PDF file, who would not want the ability to create and modify them? Most consumer software is geared toward content consumption. Programs like Acrobat are designed to deliver content. Other programs like Word, Excel, Photoshop, Illustrator, AutoCAD, Solidworks and are designed to create content. Acrobat is a delivery vehicle bridge creation and consumption. We should be teaching our children more than content consumption. I personally believe that our schools should teach the programs listed above for our kids, so they can produce their product school work more effectively, but 95% of our teens focus on consumption. Tablets and smartphones are great for consumption but to produce content that requires a workstation or two and the software tools and skill sets to match.

Buy a lot of stuff from Amazon, but I bought my upgrade directly from Adobe Acrobat 11 because Amazon did not sell the upgrade. I ordered the physical disk, not the download version. I like having a physical disk, because the download is going to be hard to find after the next version will be released, and you may need to reinstall later. I updated most of my software every year due to cost and bandwidth. If it is not broke, why fix it? I'm still working mainly in AutoCAD 2004 though in 2012 I loaded one of my computers. I know a lot of fast 2004 keyboard shortcuts and new releases are presented completely different. It's good to have a record and not forced to upgrade.

If you have an older version of Acrobat, bite the bullet and upgrade to version 11 it's a great time saver that will enable you to deliver polished content to consumers and direct its focus to its intention of communication. If you do not currently use Acrobat, buy a license and become a producer. Do not waste your time with wanabees third party.

The least expensive part of the computer's hardware. Software cost more than hardware, and the most expensive asset is their time. It's okay to experiment, but the acquisition of software skill sets is not like buying a TV or turning on a switch. Learning a large software program is like getting married. You get in and out of the way along to get particular things you need to do today, learning things here and there as to cope with the objectives, and after years may not be a professional, but fluent. Ensure that the pool is plunge into. You do not want to invest years supported a particular program, then make it evaporate. There is strength in numbers. 'In fact, programs that are embraced by a large user base will grow and provide Googleable are valuable resources when guidance on how to perform their particular tasks today is required.
